Sensitive Skin Care and Aging Skin

by Aileen Fitzharris

Before getting to involved, how about we take a quick view at the different types of skin. There are three basic skin types:

*dry skin

*combination skin

*oily skin

It's not too difficult to determine your skin type. Simply cleanse your face and do not apply moisturizer. Wait one hour and blot different parts of your skin with a tissue.

Dry skin will not leave behind traces of oil. Oily skin will leave residue on all the tissues. Combination skin will leave residue only on the tissues applied to the forehead, cheeks and chin.

Some people may be thinking: Wait! I've heard of a fourth skin type, sensitive skin. Well, in all honesty sensitive skin is not a skin type, per se. It's basically a condition that affects different skin types, just like aging skin.

How to Deal with Aging Skin

Okay, now it gets tricky. As time goes by we begin to age and our skin becomes more sensitive regardless of our skin type. So, it is vital that we find and use products that can treat our skin gently yet effectively.

This is when sensitive skin care comes in handy for every type of skin. Anti aging skin care products often contain ingredients that can be irritating for sensitive skin, such as Vitamin C, retinol and AHAs.

You might want to use the trial and error approach to help you find the right product, however, if your skin is too sensitive, this can quickly lead to a cycle of irritation that can be hard to treat. Therefore, read the labels and see if you can find any of the following ingredients:

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is probably one of the most soothing ingredients found in skin care products. It is useful for anti-aging because it can treat chronic redness and swelling.

Chamomile

This ingredient has been used for centuries to help soothe sensitive skin.

Licorice Root Extract

This ingredient can also be found as licochalcone in different skin care products. It is a soothing ingredient that helps alleviate irritation and redness.

Niacinamide

This natural ingredient is especially good for sensitive skin because it can help you relieve inflammation and treat hyperpigmentation.

Antioxidants

Vitamin E, polyphenols and other antioxidants are essential for anti-aging skin care. They are less irritating than AHAs and retinol.

Final Tip

If aging skin is really a concern then make sure that you never forget to apply sunscreen. UV radiation is the main cause of premature skin wrinkles and age spots. By simply using sunscreen everyday you will keep your skin looking younger for longer.

REJUVENATING CREAM is an excellent skin care lotion for sensitive, aging skin that can help soothe and treat aging skin by promoting a natural skin care for all skin types. In effect, REJUVENATING CREAM is an excellent wrinkles cream that can be used to treat all skin types regardless of how sensitive they are.
